Hey Fatty Privacy Policy

Effective July 21, 2026

This policy explains how Hey Fatty handles information when you use the app.

Overview

Hey Fatty is a local-first iPhone app published by Ludicrous LLC. The app does not have its own account, and Ludicrous does not operate an advertising, analytics, photo, or Health-data server for it.

Information the app processes

Progress photos and history are encrypted in the app’s storage on your iPhone. Photos are normalized to remove capture metadata before they are saved. Plaintext exists briefly in app-controlled temporary storage and memory while you capture or deliberately view a photo, then the app removes those temporary copies.

An Apple Account signed in to iCloud, with iCloud Drive and iCloud Keychain enabled, is required to create or open the encrypted vault and take photos.

Encrypted photos and separately protected history metadata sync through your private CloudKit database. Encryption keys are managed with iOS Keychain and iCloud Keychain. Apple may process account and service metadata such as record timing, count, and size while providing iCloud, but Ludicrous does not receive a copy on an application server.

If you grant Apple Health access, the app reads body-weight samples to draw your weight trend. Those samples are used in memory and are not copied into the app database, attached to photos, or uploaded by the app. Hey Fatty never writes to Apple Health.

Reminder settings are kept on your device, and reminders are scheduled as local notifications. Hey Fatty does not use remote marketing notifications.

Apple processes purchases and provides the app with product and entitlement status. After Apple verifies Lifetime Access, the app keeps a device-only Keychain marker containing its product and transaction identifier so access can continue when StoreKit is temporarily unavailable. Ludicrous does not receive your payment-card details.

Sharing and support

Ludicrous does not sell your information, share it with advertisers, or use third-party tracking SDKs. Apple processes information when you choose to use system services such as iCloud, iCloud Keychain, Apple Health, notifications, and App Store purchases, subject to your Apple settings and Apple’s terms.

If you email support, Ludicrous receives the address and information you intentionally include. The app never attaches photos, Health data, or diagnostics to a support message automatically. Support messages are used to answer your request and maintain necessary support records.

Retention and deletion

Your photos and progress history remain until you delete them. Deleting one check-in removes its photo and progress-history entry and syncs a protected deletion record. An older encrypted cloud object can remain in your private CloudKit vault so offline iPhones can safely reconcile.

Delete All Photos permanently deletes every progress photo and progress-history entry from this iPhone and the app’s private iCloud vault.

It does not reset app settings, the number of included free check-ins already used, or purchases managed by Apple.

An offline iPhone that already downloaded a copy retains its local vault until deletion completes on that device. Apple may retain service backups according to its own policies. Apple Health samples are not retained by Hey Fatty. You may ask us to delete a support email by contacting support.

Security

Hey Fatty uses encryption, iOS file protection, Keychain storage, and screen-capture protections to reduce the risk of unauthorized access. No storage system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your iPhone, device passcode, Apple Account, and recovery methods secure.

Your choices

Camera, notification, Apple Health, and biometric permissions can be changed in iOS Settings. Notifications, Apple Health, Face ID, and Touch ID are optional. Camera access is required to take a photo; the Apple Account, iCloud Drive, and iCloud Keychain described above are required to create or open its encrypted vault.

If iCloud Drive or iCloud Keychain becomes unavailable, the app keeps the encrypted vault closed until the required iCloud services are available again.

Children

Hey Fatty is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child sent personal information in a support request, contact us so we can remove it.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected in the in-app and online policy.

Questions or privacy requests can be sent to support@ludicrous.io.
